Alessandra Martinelli

Alessandra Martinelli (MD and Ph) is Head of the Research Unit of Rehabilitation and Social Psychiatry and psychiatrist at the St John of God Clinical Research Centre [IRCCS Fatebenefratelli] of Brescia in Italy. She specializes in assertive outreach, psychiatric rehabilitation, digital health innovation, and recovery for people with severe mental disorder. She earned her Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Psychology, Psychiatry, and Movement Science from the University of Verona (Italy) and University College London (the UK), and has held research and clinical roles in Italy, the UK, France, Mexico, and India. Dr. Martinelli is also actively involved in several professional organizations, including serving as President of the Young EAOF. She has published various peer-reviewed articles and book chapters and has experience in teaching, translating and validating assessment tools (i.e. Mental Health Recovery Star, FACT Manual, QuIRC-SA, Monitoring the Pathway of Rehabilitation). Her contributions have earned multiple international awards, including honors from the World Psychiatry Association, the International Federation of Psychiatric Epidemiology and the International Phenomenological Research Awards and the Anna Kuliscioff Prize.
