As an MD and PhD, Dr. Alessandra Martinelli is a psychiatrist and clinical researcher who works at the St John of God Clinical Research Centre, IRCCS Instituto Centro San Giovanni di Dio Fatebenefratelli of Brescia in Italy. She has a broad range of experience in the field of mental health, particularly in the areas of models of care, community care, deinstitutionalisation, residential facilities, and recovery for people with a severe mental disorder. Dr. Martinelli is also actively involved in several international professional organizations, including serving as President of the Young EAOF. She has published various peer-reviewed articles and book chapters and has experience teaching and translating mental health assessments (i.e. Mental Health Recovery Star, FACT Manual, QuIRC-SA). With fluency in multiple languages, Dr. Martinelli has had international clinical and research experiences and has participated in many seminars, congresses, and presentations worldwide.
